Winter Festival

Brrr.....

Lillian and her friend Kira made sure they were all bundled up!

Grant walking through the ice maze.

Snow Caves and Buddy Bear

Goose spent Saturday afternoon making a snow cave.

This past week Lilly was the Star of the Week. This means not only do you get to be the line leader, but you also get Buddy Bear for the weekend. Lilly loved having Buddy go with her on all her adventures.

Tinkerbelle Birthday Party

We had such a great time with Lillian's birthday party this year! The girls made their very own magic wands, we played pin the star on the wand, Pixie tag basically like freeze tag. To unfreeze the girl you had to sprinkle glitter on her. When all the girls left all my furniture and carpet had a little sparkle to it.

The girls enjoyed getting their nails painted with Tinkerbelle green and especially loved putting on glittery lipgloss and eye shadow.

Oliver didn't seem to mind being the only boy in the house!

The little fairies made their own magic wands. I made them all promise not to turn me into a toad.

This year Lilly wanted a Tinkerbell cake for her birthday. I didn't know exactly how I was going to go about making this. I was so excited when I came across this Tinkerbell, I thought it would work perfectly on a round cake. She was happy with it.

I got a kick out of Monte's drawing. I love how he drew this rat and trap.

I love his little half smile.

Happy Birthday Lillian!!!

I am so grateful I was blessed with a little girl! She is so so sweet, and has actually taught me so much through her perfect little example. We love her so much! Here are some funny and mostly sweet things I have written down in Lillian's journal from the past six years.

November 2005- I opened the newspaper to look for your baby brother Maxwell's obituary. Right when I turned to the correct page you dove forward practically leaping out of my arms; pointed to the picture of your brother and said, "Maxwell!" It was as clear as day. The strange thing is you didn't get a lot of time with him here on earth, let alone seen any pictures of him. However, you two must have been the bestest of friends before you both came to earth. I am sure you were playing in heaven together 20 months ago. Of course you would recognize him!

May 2006- Lillian you talk so much!! It is funny whenever you are crying and I ask you what happened without fail you say, "Monte did it!" It is so funny, because rarely is it Monte!

August 2007- I overheard Lillian saying her prayers. She said, "Please bless my Grandma "Tractor" and Grandma "Sugar" and help them to send me a card. It was so cute! We had just recently moved from Utah to New York.

December 2008- Lillian and I were watching Andrea Bocelli on PBS. I turned to Lilly and said, " Andrea Bocelli is blind." Lilly simply said, "Well if Jesus were here he could put his hands on his eyes and he would be able to see."

August 2009- For the longest time now Lilly has wanted a puppy. Tonight in the car she was wishing on a star. Starlight, starbright.... After she finished she said, "When am I going to hear a *POP* that is when the puppy should appear.

February 2010-Lillian was looking at a I am A Child of God book. On the front cover there is a picture of the Savior with a little girl by his side. Lilly brought the book to me and said, "Mom,one day could you come into my school class and read this book to (she named 2 of the girls names) because they don't know about Him and they don't know that He loves them."

You are Special Dinner and Guy Smiley

For Lilly's birthday dinner she wanted: Bowtie noodles with parmesan and a little cheddar cheese, bread, broccoli and of course chocolate milk with an umbrella and a straw.

Lillian LOVES milk, on special occasions we add chocolate.

Make a Wish....

I remember my friend Eliza got her daughter a white board for her birthday. I thought that was the greatest idea ever!!! Eliza I hope you don't mind me copying your idea!
It was by far Lilly's favorite gift this year. She sat in her bed 2 hours tonight writing and drawing all over it.

It's tricky getting our little guy's smile on camera, but I finally captured it today!

Breakfast in Bed and Dirt Cups

For Lilly's birthday treat she wanted Dirt Cups. While talking to the kids in the lunchroom they were so cute. Lilly must have told them we were having dirt cups, because one of the little girls was concerned and asked me if there were really worms in the dirt cups.

Before Lilly passed out her treats the class asked her a few questions like, "What do you want for your birthday? Apparantly she wants an art set. Who knew? Well I guess I should have figured. Just this morning Monte asked me if I knew where his art set was? Hmmm, I bet anything it is under little Miss Lilly's bed!
It was fun to go to lunch with Lilly today and see her interact with her little friends. Sometimes I wish I could be a fly on the wall!
Lilly thought it was pretty crazy that there was a birthday candle in her sandwich.

Waving to her brother across the lunch room.
All ready to go to school. She was pretty excited to go because she is the Star of the Week in her class. Which means she is the line leader, she thinks that is great!

Lilly was pretty excited to wake up to breakfst in bed on her special day. She requested blueberry pancakes and chocolate milk with an umbrella. Thank you Eggo for making my life easier today!

Smiley Boy

So today I was holding Oliver and talking to him. I told him that I loved him, and reminded him that we waited so so long for him, but were so happy he finally came to our family. And guess what? HE SMILED!!! It was definatly not the gassy smile, but a real smile! I tried to get him to do it again so I could get a picture, but no such luck. He looked at me like this instead.

Happy Birthday to Jeremy!!!

Happy Birthday to Jeremy! The kids thought it would be fun to throw him a little party and surprise him with dinner. We had a great time, too bad it was a long day at school and work and he didn't get home until 7:30. We will be excited when school ends!!!

Make a wish....

Lillian thought that daddy's wrapping paper needed to be decorated. I love that she always includes Maxwell in her drawings of our family. However she now draws Maxwell as a little boy and Oliver is in my arms.

Jeremy got a George Foreman grill. We have a small one, but it will be nice to be able to fit more than one piece of chicken on the grill at a time.

For Jeremy's birthday dinner we had a Tangy Pear Walnut and Blue Cheese Salad, Rosemary Roasted Potatoes, Asparagus with sliced almonds and Parmesan, Sourdough bread, Artichoke bruschetta chicken and lava cake with vanilla ice cream and hotfudge and toffee chips. I think tomorrow we're having frozen pizza.

Parcheesi and Never Ending Laundry

Goose loves his little brother so much and anytime he sits down he wants to be holding Oliver.

While the kids played games I took the day and tried to catch up on laundry. The laundry seems never ending, and I think I did 20 loads. I hope two dryers are in my future!

The boys invited a friend over yesterday to play games. They like to play Monopoly and Parcheesi.
