1st Place and Such

A few weeks ago I noticed an envelope in Lilly's take home folder. I was a little shocked when I opened it and discovered that she won 1st place in the Literature category of Reflections. I have no clue what she wrote, I don't recall her entering. Congratulations Lilly! We are so proud of you!!!

Jeremy found this note from Lilly a few days before his birthday. It made him smile. Happy Early Birthday Dad!

Lilly left this little note on Jeremy's shoes in his closet. I love this little girl of mine.

Changes

Tonight we were all sitting in the living room talking. Jeremy proceeded to tell the chickens that he was going through some changes.... he couldn't finish his sentance before Goose piped in and said, "Dad are you going through puberty?" I laughed out loud, it was hilarious! (Jeremy was getting ready to tell the kids how he was going through some changes at work) I love these chickens of mine, they keep me laughing!

HaPpY 7th BiRthDay!

Lilly was due February 29th 2004. Which so happened to be Leap Year. She decided to come on the 24th of February instead. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches tall. She was born with a tiny bit of brown hair and bluish gray eyes. I started going into labor at 4:00 p.m. and delivered her at 8:50 p.m. I remember her father and brothers coming to the hospital with 5 Lily flowers the day she was born. I am so grateful for Lillian. We joke and say that she came out talking! There is NEVER a dull moment when Bean is around. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She is a excellent reader, writer, cleaner and organizer. She is also very sweet and thoughtful. Often times I find little hand written notes around the home written by our sweet girl. I am so thankful I have a GIRL! We love you Lilly, Happy Birthday!!!
For Lilly's birthday we made a Hello Kitty cake. It seemed like an easy task and turned into a disaster. I didn't have time to freeze the cake and then frost it. When I went to frost it it went all crumbly. I decided to mix some sourcream with the frosting to make it spread easier. Yeh, don't try that.

Make a wish! Notice the hole in the cake, or the torn apart red bow? Yeh,her brothers did that.

A little over a year ago Lilly started asking if she could get a violin and start taking lessons. I was hesitant because of a few "little" factors: the cost and the time commitment. Well for the past year that is all Lilly talks about. She draws pictures of her playing a violin, she pretends to practice and when Alison plays in church she comments on how she wants to play just like her. So we decided to get her very own violin, we found one on Ebay for $50 bucks. Lilly starts her lessons next week, she couldn't be happier!!!

7 years ago at 8:50 p.m. Lillian Mary was born. Tonight at 8:50 I said, "Lilly come over here I want to hold you, like I did when you were first born." Lilly darted over to her daddy and snuggled him instead.

I found Lilly's dinner mostly in the freezer aisle at Walmart. Good news is it was super easy and the bad news is it was gross. For dinner she wanted: Cheese Ravioli without sauce, chicken nuggets dipped in Ketchup, strawberries and once again chocolate milk with a straw.Lilly couldn't be happier with her feast that she designed. The rest of the fam is just happy her birthday "feast" is only once a year. :)

PaRtY!

Lilly is grateful for wonderful friends!!! Thank you for coming and celebrating with us!
The kids are out of school this entire week, so we had Lilly's birthday party today. We had fun painting nails, making crafts and having a little spa treatment. Thank heaven for little girls!!!!

Lilly wanted to have a little spa. So we did a avocado and oatmeal face mask. Lilly had a hard time relaxing, and was laughing hysterically the entire time. I felt bad for Lydia and Jane who were really trying hard to relax and have a "spa like experience." :)Lilly and Jane both commented on how smooth their skin felt after they rinsed the mask off. :)

We painted all the girls nails with glitter. Of course Lilly chose purple and pink.

The girls made pencil toppers and bookmarks.

Each girl made a little necklace.

Lilly started out the morning with breakfast in bed. She had blueberry pancakes and chocolate milk with a straw.

Presidential Food

This week to celebrate President's Day we have been eating some of their favorite foods.
George Washington: Ice-Cream
John Adams: Pickles
Thomas Jefferson: Pancakes and Vegetables
Abraham Lincoln: Crackers and Cheese
John Quincy Adams: Fresh Fruit
Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Scrambled Eggs
Ronald Reagan: Macaroni and Cheese and Jelly beans
George W. Bush: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
Barack Obama: Chili and hamburgers (probably won't be having this, but thought it was a fun little fact)
Lots of President's listed ice-cream as one of their favorite treats. George Washington especially loved cherry ice-cream.

Cinderella

I absolutely LOVE it when Lilly plays Cinderella! She gets dressed up in her Cinderella gown and then cleans the house. This particular night she folded laundry, vacuumed, swept the floor and got on her hands and knees and washed the tile. I love my little Cinderella. :)

Lilly loves to twirl and spin in her dress....

Birthday Celebration

The kids are out of school this entire week. So last week we celebrated Lillian's birthday in her class. For her birthday treat we did dirt cups. The kids always love these. Bean was a little embarrassed when all her little school friends sang to her.

HaPpY 34th BiRtHdAy!!!

Happy Birthday to Jeremy! It was kind of a big day, not only did he turn 34 (you only do that once)but he also signed a lease for his new office!!
When I asked Jeremy what he wanted for his birthday dessert he said a raspberry trifle. So a raspberry trifle we did. Despite our home almost burning down from all the flames, thanks Jessica for the AMAZING recipe. It was delish!

That's A LOT of candles to blow out! :)

For dinner we had Carne Asada tacos with pico de gallo and Spanish rice. For those wondering, yes he did get to eat off of the YOU ARE SPECIAL red plate.

Jeremy got a book about Ronald Reagan, he can't wait to read it. He also LOVED the baby shower wrapping paper. :)

Jeremy started his birthday morning with a "gourmet" Belgium Waffle found in the freezer section at a local Wegman's.

Creepy Cupid

Last month while shopping at Wegman's I happened upon these Pez dispensers. I just HAD to add them to my cart. Happy Valentines Jeremy! :)

XOXOXOXO

This year we had candlelight pizza for our Valentine dinner. This year we tried heart shaped pepperoni's.(we just used a mini heart cookie cutter) Lilly especially liked this idea. To drink we had Red Cane Sugar Soda. Needless to say we were all on a sugar high yesterday.

A few neighbor kids ended up staying for dinner.

4th Grade Valentine Party

The fourth graders have a little competition of who can decorate the best Valentine box. They aren't allowed to do any of the work at home. G wanted to do an alligator, I was impressed how it turned out. Way to go G!

We played limbo. Nice try G!

They played a fun heart game. Everyone in the class got a half of a heart. The students had to walk around and find there match. Can you tell that G is THRILLED that I took his picture with a GIRL?

We started the 4th grade party with ice-cream sundaes. Mainly because they probably aren't going to get enough sugar today.

Decorating Sugar Cookies

After school we invited a few neighbor kids over to decorate heart shaped sugar cookies. 30minutes later Lilly was complaining of a tummy ache. I wonder if it had something to do with the 3 inch layer of sprinkles, frosting, M&M's and heart shaped candies that were added to the top times 2.
