Chopping down the White Spruce

On Saturday we went to Evergreen Hills to chop down our Christmas tree. I was a little dissapointed that there wasn't any snow. However, it was a gorgeous evening and there was a beautiful sunset. The tree we picked this year was a White Spruce. After debating between several trees, we went with Grant's choice. After chopping down the tree we headed to the little lodge for some yummy hot cocoa and hot apple cider. It was a beautiful evening. Cutting down the Christmas tree is one of our favorite family traditions. It was time to go and Oliver was so mad! He wanted to stay and play in the trees longer.

Chief could have spent forever at the tree farm. He loved playing hide and seek with Goose.

It was a beautiful tree cutting evening.

Searching for our 2011 Christmas tree.....

Goose standing in front of the tree he picked.

Chief had a ball running in and out of the trees.

Bean loved looking for the tree.

Timber! Chief LOVED this!

Hershey Park in Pennsylvania

On Friday we headed to Hershey Park in Pennyslvania. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and around 63 degrees. It is hard to believe that it's the end of November.
Hershey Park was all decorated for Christmas and there was a magical feeling in the air.
This house was made entirely of chocolate and candy.

Goose really wanted this 5 pound Hershey bar, maybe next time.....

Of course we had to get a picture with the Reeses Peanut Butter Cup.

I love this picture of Bean with her little friends holding hands while waiting for the ride.

HaPpY ThAnKsGiving!

We headed to good ole Danville, Pennsylvania this year for Thanksgiving. If you haven't been to Danville, I think you should. We pretty much consider the Boren's family and are so grateful to have them as friends. We had such a great time!!! I wish they didn't have to move away; however then I would never know about Danville, so I guess it's ok. :) If you haven't stayed with the Boren family you should call her and set up an appt. Or you can always just invite yourself, I believe that's what I did for Thanksgiving. She is the best host ever and makes the most delicious food and your sheets will smell like Downy. Thanksgiving consisted of: Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Rolls, Green beans, Green bean casserole, Corn, Stuffing, Raspberry Pretzel dessert, Craisin-Apple Salad, & Pomegranite Apple Salad. For appetizers: Little Smokies, Chips and Salsa, Relish Tray, Carrots and Ranch, Cheeseball and Crackers, 7-Layer Dip, Shrimp and then for dessert: Apple Pie, Apple Cheesecake, Coconut Cream Pie & Chocolate Pecan. Oh yes and a delicious Raspberry Slush to drink. She goes all out, there was seriously enough food for an army! It was oh so good! We ate and ate and laughed and ate and ate and played games and laughed some more and then had a snack. It was the best! We are so grateful for their family & can't wait to see them again!
Thank You Boren's!

Who says you need utensils?

Bean and her friend both chose to wear purple shirts with ruffles to dinner.

Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them

Such an incredible and inspiring message!
"If you have faith, you can handle difficulties. Knowing with an eternal prespective all will be well." Russell M. Nelson goes on to say, "I was calm, I was totally calm, even though I knew I was going down to my death. I was ready to meet my Maker." So inspiring and what comfort it brings to me to know that our Father in Heaven is in charge.

This Is George and he is Oh so Curious.....

Oliver George is seriously a little monkey. I am constantly getting him down from places that he should not be. Oliver can be found almost daily climbing on the kitchen table and of course he gets on his tippy toes and tries to grab the chandeliar. He may or may not have swung from it a time or two. Needless to say Oliver has spent a lot of time sitting on the stairs in time out. We're working on correcting Oliver's bad habits. :) In the meantime here's some pictures of what Oliver's been up too and into.
The other day I was upstairs picking up when I heard Oliver whimpering downstairs and saying, "Mom!" I ran downstairs and discovered that he had climbed the filing cabinet and was hanging from the top drawer and afraid to drop. Oh boy!

Chief got a hold of the syrup and it made its way into the toilet. Of course the floor was covered in a sticky mess.

Not again.....

This is what happens when the older kids leave the bin of crayons out.....

Chief dumped his sippy cup, at least he cleaned it up. Oy!

Oh Oliver.....

All of my children have loved sitting in Grandpa Tractors homeade block box.
