Adelaide Pearl

We feel so incredibly blessed that we have been able to adopt another sweet miracle. We are so grateful for our two birthmothers Aubrey and Becky. God works in mysterious ways and we have seen His hand in our lives. In November, we got a phone call from our sweet birthmother who said she was expecting a girl and was due in February. To be honest I hung up the phone and was in shock to say the least. Jeremy and I knew that we had another baby on the way and that it would be a girl and through adoption, but I thought to myself this is to good to be true! She said she wanted Jeremy and I to be the parents of her precious baby. Becky lives really close and we have been able to go to her doctor appointments and ultra sounds with her. I have really loved getting to know Becky over the past several months. Her favorite color is pink, she loves Chinese food, football and Jelly Belly jelly beans. She also really loves hot pockets and soda. I loved learning these little facts about her. I am amazed at our birthmothers and their complete love they have for their babies. They love them so much that they chose to place them for adoption and bless them with a mother and a father. It is amazing and we are so grateful.
Becky really wanted to have a c-section even though the baby was head down. She had a scheduled
c-section on January 28th. Jeremy took the day off of work and we went and picked Becky up and headed to the hospital to witness our baby be born. When we arrived the doctor questioned Becky and asked her why she wanted a c-section? He said it is so much safer if she just delivered vaginally. He really really did discouraged her from having a major surgery. After a bit, Becky agreed that the doctor was right and decided to deliver vaginally. Around 7:00 p.m. they started her and nothing was happening. The nurses told Jeremy and I that it was going to be a really long night and we should go home and get some rest. They promised that if anything starting happening that they would call ASAP. Becky agreed that we should go home and get rest. She really felt like this baby wasn't coming anytime soon. So Jeremy and I headed back home. Around 4:00 a.m. I got a phone call from the nurse saying grab your bags and get to the hospital. Becky was dilated to an 8!! We hopped out of bed, I washed my face and put some contacts in, grabbed my camera and bag and we were off. It was very exciting!!! When we were right around the corner from the hospital the nurse called again and said Becky was now a 9 and we needed to get their fast! We parked our car, checked in at the security desk and ran to Becky's room! Becky really wanted us at the delivery and we are so grateful. We stood up top and watched. Becky did wonderful!!!! Just like any birth, it was absolutely amazing and incredible. My heart ached, Becky was in pain and I wanted so bad to take that from her. I couldn't help but think how incredibly unselfish she is. Here she is in all this pain and she is choosing to place her daughter with Jeremy and I. It is very humbling. Becky didn't have to push long, before we welcomed our little miracle into the world. Adelaide had a rough start and it was very frightening. She was born and she wasn't breathing and didn't cry. All of a sudden the small delivery room filled with doctors and they began to work on our sweet baby frantically while Jeremy and I watched. Ugg. Her Apgar score was only a 3 or 4. Jeremy and I hopelessly watched and prayed in our hearts that eveything would be ok. Then a miracle happened, she began to cry and ended up being perfectly healthy and fine! At this point I made sure Becky knew that she was ok and I asked her if she wanted to see and hold her? She said that she wanted Jeremy and I to be the first to hold her since she was our daughter. I just love Becky. At this point I actually had to leave the delivery room and throw up. The heat, the emotion, witnessing such a miracle, the scare of Adelaide not breathing and eveything else really got to me. When I came back in Jeremy was holding our sweet beautiful daughter. It was such a beautiful site. I made him hand her over. :) We were in awe. She was beautiful and so perfect. She has dark hair and olive skin and reminded us of what Monte and Maxwell looked like as newborns. Beautiful. The spirit was so incredibly strong. We just know that little Adelaide is meant to be in our family. So grateful for our birthmother Becky who made this even possible. There really are no words for the gratitude we feel. We do know that God lives and Jesus is the Christ. I believe that God hears and answers prayers. Getting our family here has really been quite crazy and nothing short of a miracle. I really do believe in miracles and have witnessed several in my life. God truly is a God of miracles. I am so grateful for family. I am so grateful that families are forever. I am so grateful that Jeremy and I were married in the temple not only till death do we part, but for all eternity. I am so grateful for my knowledge of eternal families. That families truly can be forever. I can't wait for the day to have our sweet Adelaide Pearl sealed to our forever family. We are so blessed. Life is beautiful.

In January we said goodbye to our Jeep. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit sad. I am sentimental when it comes to this sort of thing. However, with our growing family we outgrew it.

I love this boy!

Chief happened to find a few markers that made their way into the crayon bin.
