Olcott on the Beach-25 Cent Rides

Olcott is a must do with little ones during the summer. With no admission, 25 cents rides and a gorgeous view of Lake Ontario you can't go wrong! The three littles loved Olcott this year despite my failure to get any of their smiles! After the children ride the rides we always take a walk on the little boardwalk and get ice-cream cones. It was hilarious watching Toad eat his. He seriously ate it like it was corn on the cob. Thankfully, I still carry wipes around and we were able to get him all cleaned up for the ride home. I love the black and white lighthouse and views of this gorgeous lake that look more like an ocean!

Summer

Oh Summer how I love you.
Oh babies how I love you.
Perfection.

Spaulding Lake

Chief is in little boy heaven snorkeling around the lake. I love this boy so much and all of his adventures. We are grateful for several friends who invite us to this "Private" lake. There is never anybody on the beach and the water is clean, warm and beautiful. Thank you friends for all your invitations! I could seriously go here every single day and be completely content. The nice thing is my two older boys will just take off and fish. There are some absolutely HUGE fish in this water. The other day we got to the lake around 11:30 and didn't leave until around 4:30-5ish. I didn't see the two older boys once that entire time. They were in fishing HEAVEN. Both boys pulled out several fish and Granny claims to have got a "huge" one. I told him next time he better take a picture for me to believe it! :)

I love these little Amigos

This little Amigo loves listening to Bean practice her violin and I do too!

Electrician

One of the many things I love about Jer is that he is always teaching the children new things. On Saturday, he taught Grant, Monte and Noah how to change and replace outlets. We turned off the power and they went to work. I was really impressed by how well they all did. Nobody was shocked or harmed! We are trying to replace all of the outlets from cream to white. They were able to change the majority of them on our main floor and I am happy with the results. Thank you boys!

Yard Work

This past Saturday we pulled the remaining two things out of our front yard. I cannot believe how huge the roots were on the little tiny pine tree. It left a huge hole in the ground. I told the kids they now have a swimming pool! I have some ideas of how I want to landscape, but haven't figured it all out. I know it will include a Weeping Cherry tree, 2 matching trees to frame the porch, some boxwoods and a few perennials. I want it really simple, low maintenance and clean looking.

Buckhorn Island

One of our favorite things to do as a family is go canoeing. This past week we went to Buckhorn Island. Since we don't all fit in the canoe we dropped the older two boys off at the dock and they fished while we canoed around. This place is gorgeous! The water was full of huge bright green lilly pads. At one point we pulled the canoe up on the shore and Bean, Lady and myself basked in the sun while Jer, Chief and Toad took a dip in the water. Bean is actually quite the paddler and steered our "ship" in all the right directions, minus the two times we ended up in the reeds. :) Jer of course always has a fishing pole with him, I kind of love that about him. He cast his line in and pulled in a Pike with razor sharp teeth. Not my favorite looking fish, but it amused the three little ones for sure. The boys had a great time fishing and would be completely content fishing the whole day through. I am kind of loving that they have so many similar interests of their father.
