A.K.A. Deb

For the past year Lilly gets herself ready and even does her own hair. Should I be worried? This is how my sweet first grader went to school today. We like to call her Deb.

Can one accessorize too much?

Swimming!

Lilly loves to swim! She just finished lessons and can hardly wait for summertime!

Cannonball!

Getting ready to do some bobs....

As we were driving home from swimming lessons Lilly said, "Mom, you know that boy that was standing next to me." I said, "Yes, Lilly what about him?" She replied, "When we were standing there he leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I've always wanted to stand next to a beautiful lady!"

Corned Beef and Cabbage

I seriously HATE Corned Beef and Cabbage (as does Lilly). I especially don't like the way it smells while cooking. Corned Beef and Cabbage just so happens to be one of Jeremy's FAVORITE meals, and the boys love it too. I have agreed to cook it once a year, on St. Patrick's Day. It must be true love that I cook this for Jeremy because seriously so many things about it make me GAG!

When the kids got home from school they went on a little treasure hunt. The clues sent them up and down the stairs and outside.

At the end of the hunt the kids found there very own pot of gold. (I saw this idea on www.makeandtakes.com)

We're So Lucky

When the kidlets got home from school today I had them write on a shamrock why they are so lucky (blessed)....
Granny's says, "I'm so lucky because I have good friends."
Goose says, "I'm so lucky because I have 3 brothers." (I love that he hasn't forgotten Maxwell!
Bean says,"I'm lucky because I have a baby brother."

Shooting Star

Today Goose was the Star Student and got to share his poster with his class. He also brought in some of his favorite things from home: baseball card collection that has currently 504 cards, scout belt with the belt loops he's earned, fishing fly's, a whistle that he made, Pinewood derby car, his favorite book and a paintbrush. I loved hearing him speak in front of the class!

Monte's special day at school just so happened to fall on a holiday. So Goose wanted to bring in a class treat. We saw these rainbow cupcakes on Family Fun, and although they are cute, they were way too time consuming and I won't be making them again.

HapPy St. PaTriCk'S DaY!

I can't get enough of little Oliver in his green. He is one handsome boy!

Oliver's cute little curl in the back is starting to turn into a mullet! We need to trim that up!

This picture makes me laugh, Chief is always crinkling his little eyes.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I have a few more things up my sleeve, but for now I need to go and wash the little green footprints off my walls. :)
Chief slurping down his green smoothie.

The kids found a special treat on the breakfast table this morning. I gave some Lucky Charms to Oliver on his tray, at first he picked out all the marshmallows and ate those and then the other stuff. They start young! :)

For breakfast we had green smoothies. They were really good. I used banana, frozen peaches, frozen pineapple, orange juice and you guessed it, spinach. Grant and Oliver LOVED them, Jeremy and the other two kids wouldn't even try it.

Those naughty little lepracaun's did it again! Little green footprints up and down the walls and all over the floor, green toilet water and they made a huge mess out of the kitchen! Hopefully Lilly catches them in her trap!

Lillian is trying really hard to catch a lepracaun. Here is the trap she created. I love the sign, "Welcome Back (Bake) Leprecaun."

Notice the chocolate sticking out? Lepracaun's love chocolate!

Chasing Geese

The other day it was "warm" outside so we went on a walk, visited the park, played basketball and chased geese. Oliver is completly fascinated with all the geese walking around. He loves to chase them!

Dear Leprecaun,

I found this little note written in chalk on our back patio:

Dear Leprecaun,
Here is a picture for you and a chocolate.
Love, Lilly
P.S. Please tell me where the fairy's live.
P.S. Tell me where the pot of gold is.
Love, Lilly

Baseball Card Swap

I thought the boys were upstairs cleaning there room....
They were swapping baseball cards instead.

Sneakiness

My children found this little note on their pillows today....
(Idea from Sugardoodle)

The leprechaun is a tricky creature
Sneakiness is his most famous feature
Maybe you can be sneaky too
By thinking of special things to do
To help people young and old
Because helping people is better than gold

What can you do?
Put away clothes or pick up toys
Be a good friend, make a joyful noise
With every secret act of service you do
You'll feel happy through and through

MATCHED!!!!!

Remember this cute couple that has been hanging out on my sidebar all these months? Well they are no longer there because they MATCHED!!!!! Rachel shared the news last week and their baby will be born in August! Jeremy and I are soooo happy for them! That is all I have thought about this past week. I am so incredibly happy for them. I am also so excited for them to meet their baby's birthmother and father! Adoption is an incredible experience. Ryan and Rachel are going to make the best parents! Once again I am reminded of the awesomeness (that's a word right?) of birthparents. They truly are amazing!!! Congratulations to Ryan and Rachel we will continue to pray for you both as well as the birthfather, birthmother and birth grandparents!
Hoping to Adopt

All Ears

I love how Oliver is listening so intently during morning scripture study. Now if I could only get the other 3 to do the same.....

Reflections

Last night we went to a little awards ceremony for the Reflections contest. The Theme for this year's Reflections contest was: "Together We Can"
Lilly's 1st grade teacher has all of her class participate. Lilly won 1st place for her entry in the literature category. She wrote a little poem: "Together We Can all Be a Team and Care for the Earth." Way to go Lilly we are so proud of you!

Lilly checking out her gift certificate for Barnes and Noble.

Here are some of the elementary Reflection winners posing for the school yearbook. Lilly is on the front row.

After the awards ceremony, Oliver was first in line for refreshments. This is the first time he has had a juice box and he LOVED it!

Sworn In, FINALLY official!!!!

Today was an exciting day. Jeremy was FINALLY sworn in and took the oath of an attorney. After what seems like FOREVER he can now officially practice law! The kids and I are so happy for him and all of his hard work! Way to go Jeremy!!!
He opens his doors for business tomorrow! Check out his website at: www.jrimmigrationlaw.com
We only got two pictures, which is odd for me. :) However, the older lady who took our family picture accidently cut out Lilly. So I guess it's not a family picture. Notice how Oliver isn't very happy? He was at the doctor this morning for an ear infection.

Goose was on video taping duty....

Makes Our Day

Yesterday, Jeremy was holding Oliver and turned to me and said, "You know I can be having the worst day ever, and I come home and there is Oliver, always smiling. He always brightens my day." It's true, we love him dearly.
Chief has a few wild strands of hair!

Botanical Gardens

During winter recess last week we took advantage of dollar days at the Botanical Gardens. It is a yearly tradition. It feels so warm and bright in there a nice little winter getaway.
Chief had his own agenda....
Notice his wet pant leg? He had a little accident with the shallow wishing fountain. :)

Goose loved these trees and asked that I take a picture of him by them.

Chiefs little paw wanted to grab EVERYTHING. At least he didn't try this in the cactus room.

Hide and Seek.

This is a favorite....

I adore my two hand in hand blondies.

I love this picture of Chief and Bean. Chief loved looking in this tank!

I was really tempted to pick this lime.
