I really wish I shared Toad's love of dirty laundry.

Happy 5th Birthday Chief
Chief is turning FIVE on this -10 degree day. Happy Birthday to the
happiest and most loving little boy who always has an adventure in his
pocket.
For breakfast I let the birthday child choose anything they want. I'm surprised that this is the first time I have got this request, but Chief requested ice-cream. Ice-cream it is!For dinner he requested his absolutely favorite thing in the universe. Buffalo BBQ Chicken Wings and Cheese Pizza. He LOVES chicken wings and I tell him it puts hair on his chest. :)
We had a great day with our family. It started with ice-cream and presents and ended with a chicken wings, pizza and Batman cake and more ice-cream. I can't help but think of Chief's birthmother on this special day. We are forever grateful for her and this incredible gift that she gave to our family. We love Chief so very much and thank our Father in Heaven for adoption and selfless birthmothers. Chief is completely aware of Aubrey. She naturally comes into the story when we tell Oliver of his birth. When I was once again telling him of his birth and how Aubrey chose to place him for adoption. Chief piped in, "Oh mom, Aubrey loves me." That is exactly right Chief. I hope one day he can meet the women that gave him life and that forever blessed our family. We love you Chief, you make life completely amazing! You are so sweet and loving and generous with your affection. Happy Birthday! I can hardly believe you are five! The years fly by.
Chief received some wonderful and thoughtful gifts. Thanks everyone! He wanted more than anything a robe, so I happened to find a Ninja Turtle robe that he adored! I laughed so hard when he told me that's what he wanted. Paca Tractor also made him a set of wooden cars. Paca is amazing when it comes to making things with wood. I was thrilled to see that he even signed the bottom of the vehicles! I have told him to do this for years! Unfortunately, the babies aboslutely loved the cars too. So Chief had to keep stealing them back from the babies in order to play with them! Chief is constantly driving these wooden cars around. He loves them. Thank you Paca! Chief also got some more magnetic tiles to add to the set he got for Christmas. I am not kidding when I say the absolute BEST purchase ever! Chief spends HOURS every single day building things and putting things together. In fact, every night he takes a few magnetic tiles to bed. Thank you to everyone that made this day extra special for our boy.

The Bargain Cave
"Mom, can we please go to the bargain cave at Cabela's?"
I love my dates with Goose. He is so much fun to be with! We spent nearly two hours wondering around Cabela's we looked at the knives, fishing gear, camping gear, sleeping bags, cots, water purification things, clearence items in the "bargain cave" and everything in between! Goose had some of his money that he wanted to spend. He ended up purchasing: a knife (he collects them), a water purification straw (you just never know) :) and a marshmellow gun for Oliver (so thoughtful). After we got in the car he told me, "Mom, do you want to go out to dinner, I'll pay." What!? What kid does that? I was shocked! He told me he wanted to go to La Tolteca a local Mexican joint. It's not Utah Mexican food, but it's our favorite around these parts. So off to La Tolteca with my 12 year old boy. Before we got in he was hilarious! He counted up his money and was like ok, how much do you think drinks cost? He then proceeded to pull up the menu to see if the items offered were in his little budget. :) I told him that he could get a drink and I would be fine with water. We had a great time chatting and eating lots and lots of chips and salsa. After we ate, the bill came. Goose was hysterical! He was like,"Woah! Eating out is pricey!" The bill was around $24.00 I told him he also needed to think about a tip. That about threw him over the edge. It was so funny! He kept saying really I have to leave a tip!? I love Goose and this was the first time one of my children has ever offered to pay and take me to dinner. It was a wonderful night. Thank you Goose, you made my dad! I love you.

Beethoven
This is what our little ladies hair looks like first thing in the morning! I usually put her in the shower or tub every morning. It makes it so much easier to tame when it's wet! Our little Lady loves to sit at the piano and make "music." Our very own Beethoven hair and all!
